How to create a ringtone for iPhone using iTune?
Items we need to perform this task:
- iTune
- a song
- an iPhone
- an USB cable to transfer ringtones to the iPhone
Steps to create and transfer the ringtones to the iPhone:
1. In iTune, go to Music.
2. Right-click on a song and choose "Get Info".
3. From the popup window, go to "Options", and put a checkmark on the start and stop checkboxes.
4. Enter a starting time and ending time (note that the max length for ringtones in iPhone is 30 seconds), and click "OK".
5. Right-click again on the same song and choose "Create ACC Version".
6. Right-click on the ACC version of song created in step 5, and choose "Show in Windows Explorer".
7. Change the extension from "m4a" to "m4r", and click "Yes" to confirm.
8. Go back to iTune and delete the ACC version of the song.
9. Go back to Windows Explorer and drag the ringtone to iTune, and it should be in the Tones from the 3 dots on top left corner.
10. Plug the iPhone to the computer, and in iTune, go to iPhone and then go to "Tones".
11. Put a checkmark on tones that we want to sync and click "Apply".
12. When the sync is finished, the ringtone should be in the iPhone.
13. From the iPhone, go to "Settings, then "Sounds, and choose "Ringtone", and the new ringtone should be under "RINGTONES".
